Is this a yearly event? Wish I could contribute but my partner and I just started working on a prototype for our game. But we will still be working on the final build this time next year. Would be amazing to have a venue like this to showcase our game as it is nearing completion next year.
Assuming nothing catastrophic happens, it should be a yearly event! In the meantime, I would definitely suggest coming anyway just to network with other people and to show support for your fellow indie devs!

Pixel art isn't always about laziness. There's a ton of factors that go into it (money, time, art skill). Also, I know some pixel artists who probably spend more time on the art than some 3d modelers.
